Fuck me i'm tired.
Logged 4k hands today for the tidy sum of $100. Making me exactly $85 up in the last 10 days, piss poor tbh but its probably to be expected from my first couple of weeks.
It's took a while adjusting to some of the donkish behaviour that seems to occur at these stakes, but the general rule i'm beggining to follow (yer right) is this: if they are betting they have it! I need to cut down on the flips, I need to get away from the 100 & 200nl mentality that AK is the nuts preflop (which it is BTW) and start to call alot more in position with my stronger hands and outplay my opponents on the flop.
It would also be nice if Ipoker would let me win the occasional 70/30 55/45 or 45/55...please Ipoker let me win half of these and I will be indebted to you for life.
Being new to this poker for a living thing has took its toll. 20k hands is alot for me in the space of a week, although i'm beggining to see how people live off of their rakeback deals ($800 rake this week alone).
My next aim is to book a substancial 10bi win by friday, repeat for two weeks and then beg to be moved up to 100nl, where I can start making some real benjamins, and maybe start to play so smart poker!
Here are a couple of fun hands;

An example of some of the idiot regs you get at 50nl. my call was marginal as I do feel that their are better spots to take his monies however I had been 3betting the hell out of him and I think he was becoming tilted. I knew he wouldnt play AA KK or probably QQ in this way so narrowed his range down to PP's 99/1010 (maybe totally spazzing out with low PP's) and big aces. Unfortunately he had the latter which was rewarded on the river.

This one was kind of fun. The whole hand totally wierded me out, this guy had been min raising UTG a whole bunch and was a total maniac, I isolated on BTN to which he min 4b me to $7, I called and decided to proceed with caution, his pot bet on the flop was instant, and obvc i practically flop the nuts vs maniacs wierdo range. Theres no justice in this game.
I probably should stop playing after a trip down the local public house aswell. Although i love bullying all the regs with my infinate drunken aggression, leading them to live (and die) by grabbing a piece and holding the fuck on, with comical tilty as suplement

After this hand the guy called me a "cumsipper" my response? dumping two bi's back into his stack for good measure. But tbh I'm glad my money is in the hands of someone as linguistically creative as this French twat.

Went out tonight for a good friends birthday. It's amazing how long you have to que for somewhere that is so standard. We waited over an hour to get into a local club/bar however it was a fun night so I cant grumble.
I didnt run great at 100nl this morning. I ran my QQ into AA early on and dropped down to 50nl soon after.
My results soon picked up, and after a loooooong session i managed to pick up 5 bi's at 50nl, leaving me with a (sick) profit of $82 for the day.
I think its important for me to book a win at the moment as my confidence has took such a shattering over the course of the last week. It's frustrating to be so sure that I can crush 100nl and 200nl yet still find myself dealing with some of the moronic situations that a 50nl grinder must face everyday (seriously i feel sorry for you!)
However what I can't overlook is the amount of value within these games! The fish are sporadic amongst the 9/7 (WTF???) grinders who must get little to no enjoyment from the game. When these fish grab a piece they will cling for dear life allowing yours truly to value town them for every last $.
I think i'll carry on playing 50nl atm. I'll play 100nl when i feel ultra ready as my roll just doesnt allow for the 3 bi's I tend to insta drop off my own back. It's frustrating when you want to prove yourself so badly that it effects your game. Thats how i've felt lately playing for badbeat. Making stupid plays at stupid times, I guess at least I know that I play bad.
In all honesty I cant complain. I'm getting the chance to learn from people who are alot better at the game then me. My flaws are being highlighted and my weaknesses exposed, i'm a long way from being a good poker player but i'm sure i'll get there.

First entry...
Well...here goes.
I've finally taken the plunge into the blogging world, partly due to three years of nagging by university lecturers and partly because I am on semi life tilt after a horrific 1 hour session where I ran -87/100 oops.
Tbh i played quite terribly. I'm beginning to realise that attempting to fold out some 100nl grinders overpair is just not profitable....even if by the river his hand is both face up and a bluff catcher....well caught sir.
Normally I don't care, i've had enough $2k swings at 100nl to last me a lifetime and can normally brush them off.
However after recieving backing from the kind people at Badbeat i've experienced a new kind dissapointment. Suddenly poker has become less about money and more about self improvement and taking my game to the next level.
After playing like a LAG lunatic for an hour (31/25) i've come to the conclusion that playing on a short roll and like a nutter just aren't compatible.
So tommorow I aim to be the definition of a grinder, picking my spots and making sure that if i'm losing i'm running as bad as Stephen Hawkin.
Peace
